Cadets Gustavo Maldonado ’17, Bryce Wikins ’17, and Kevin Talty ’18 briefed their capstone project to the US Army South Commander, Major General Chinn. The Cadets are investigating ways to improve the Army’s Training Information System to allow more efficient, effective, and intuitive access to training information. They have created a web-based platform that automates the METL crosswalk procedure, produces a network graph, and applies Google’s search algorithm to identify structurally important tasks. The Cadets will present their tool to the Training Management Directorate with the potential to be incorporated into the Digital Training Management System. This research project is affiliated with the USMA Network Science center. LTC Scioletti, MAJ Bacon, MAJ Fidler, and CPT Warnke serve on the advisory panel.
