Clik here to view.Cadets Yoshino and Baity began their data collection efforts as part of their capstone project with Dr. Michael Boyce from the US Army Simulation and Technology Training Center (STTC). The Cadets are investigating the effects of topography on training and understanding military tactics in order to inform better design of future iterations of command and control systems and instructional design. The Augmented Reality Sandtable (ARES) is a prototype from STTC that Cadets have used for analyses of training land navigation skills, time on task to complete a traditional terrain model vs. an augmented reality system, understanding commander’s intent through briefing an operations order, and the effectiveness of using training scenarios to assess understanding of tactical decision making. The Cadets will continue to work with Dr. Boyce to analyze their data and report their findings through multiple mediums.
