Biological Treatment Processes Visit WWTP

The Class of 2017 Environmental Engineers enrolled in EV402 Biological Treatment Processes conducted a lab at the Orange County Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) located in Harriman, NY. The group was able to meet with Mr. Pete Hammond, Deputy Commissioner for Environmental Services. The intent of this lab was for students to complete a field survey of a wastewater treatment plant. As part of this exercise, cadets collected information to determine the operational capability of the plant. Lessons from the evaluation and information exchange with the WWTP Operator will be used to influence their semester design project.
