The USMA Pipes and Drums travelled to New York City to participate in the Annual Tartan Day Parade. Despite adverse wet weather, the parade began between 44th Street/6th Avenue and travelled North towards 55th Street/6th Avenue. The Annual Tartan Day Parade recognizes the large Scottish heritage and community in New York City, and association with the United States Corps of Cadets Pipe and Drum Band. The trip served not only as a public relations event, but also a training event on the band’s musical skills and unit cohesiveness in preparation for the upcoming 34th Military Tattoo held at West Point, NY. In the final week of preparation for the annual event held at West Point, the Pipes and Drums Band was tested in its determination and commitment to accomplishing its task to provide musical support and moral spirit for its audiences
