Pitman Named Patriot League Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, PA - Senior Carolyn Pitman of the Army West Point women's tennis team was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for women's tennis on Monday. She went 2-0 in singles this week and 3-0 in doubles while continuing to etch her name in the Army record books. Each of Pitman's singles victories came in the top flight. In her first weekend of playing in multiple singles matches, she defeated Fordham's previously unbeaten Estelle Wong, 6-0, 6-3 before topping Nathalie Habegger of NJIT, 6-2, 6-1. Pitman now has 66 career singles wins, one shy of entering the top 10 in school history and owns a 3-1 record in 2016. Pitman moved to 10-0 on the season in doubles, pairing with Kirby Einck for two victories and Nancy Porter for the other. The West Chester, Ohio, native now sits in a tie for second all-time with Megan Noble with 97 career doubles wins. Pitman boasts a 97-28 all-time record in doubles and a 64-11 record in the spring.
