The Phi Alpha Theta Biannual National Conference took place in Orlando, Florida. For the first time, the United States Military Academy sent cadets to present at the conference. Cadets Erica MacSwan, Spenser Rapone, Zachary Affrin, and Michael Ross from the class of 2016, and Cadets Mary Liu and Rachel York from the class of 2018 were selected to present papers at this national conference. At each panel, the cadets were lauded not only for their expertise, but also for their presenting skills which stood out amongst the other students at the conference. Additionally, the Department of History’s own Professor Rasheed Hossein and Major Shauna Hann chaired panels at the conference. All turned in impressive performances, and Phi Alpha Theta recommended that the USMA chapter apply for recognition as Phi Alpha Theta’s chapter of the year due to its impact at the conference
