Cycling Takes the ECCC Cyclocross Title

The Army West Point Cycling team competed in the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) Cyclocross Championships in Warwick, RI. There, the team took advantage of the a slight lead, and conquered the fields to capture the title. This season’s team was led by CIC CDT Jack Graham ’16, who inspired and demonstrated the character, competence and commitment needed to motivate and inspire the cyclocross team to the conference title. This year’s group of solid performers included: CDTs Jack Graham ’16, Chad Wisnowski ’16, Alberto Castro ’16, Wyatt Gengler ’19, Ammon Osaki ’19, Liz Psaiki ’18, Monte Ho ’19, Norah Stapleton ’19, Dylan Allen ’18, Tristan Manderfield ’17, Kenneth Eg ’19, Dan Forquer ’17, Adam Ruff ’17, DJ Serrano ’17, Jinny Yan ’16, Kenny Daly ’16, Alex Dietrich ’19, and Kaitlin Bender ’17. Seven members of the team this season qualified as a Collegiate A rider, and will be proving their metal against the nation’s elite cross fields on 6-10 January in Asheville, NC. Representing USMA are CDTs Tristan Manderfeld ’17, Kenneth Englert ’19, Dan Forquer ’17, Adam Ruff ’17, DJ Serrano ’17, Jinny Yan ’16, and Kenny Daly ’16. The team will be preparing over winter break for the Cyclocross Nationals.
