WEST POINT, NY - After being named the most valuable player of the 2015 Barclays Center Classic, Tanner Plomb has been honored as the Patriot League men's basketball player of the week. Plomb averaged 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists as the Black Knights went 2-1 last week, including victories over Arkansas — Pine Bluff and Gardner-Webb in the weekend tournament at West Point. The senior forward nearly recorded a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds in Friday's win over the Golden Lions, before erupting for a career-high 31 points in the win over Gardner-Webb.
Plomb hit 7-of-9 three-pointers, including his first six attempts against the Runnin' Bulldogs, to set a new career high in threes and help Army capture the tournament crown. The Mukwonago, Wis., native leads the Patriot League and ranks in the top-25 nationally with 21.4 points per game and is tied for second in the conference with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
