The Army West Point Cross Country program has announced that the annual Army-Navy Star Meet will take place on October 17 in Annapolis, Md.
“We typically divide our season into the regular season meets and the championship season meets and the Army-Navy Star Meet always marks the beginning of our championship season,” Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Mike Smith said. “While this season is different in many respects with a scaled down regular season schedule, we are excited that our championship season will start as it always does at the Star Meet on October 17.”
The event will mark the first competition of the 2020-21 Army-Navy Star Meet presented by USAA. “Our men and women have dealt with a lot of uncertainty throughout the spring and summer and now that the calendar of competition is set, they are looking forward with renewed energy to testing themselves in October.” Smith said. At the 2019 Star Meet, the teams split victories with Army claiming the women's Star and Navy winning the men's competition.
The Black Knights will begin the 2020 cross country season on September 12 when they face Syracuse in Montgomery, N.Y.
