HI358 Cadets Visit Franklin D. Roosevelt's Home

On 5 October 2015, LTC Rick Black and CPT Eric Smith took cadets enrolled in HI358 Strategy, Policy, and Generalship to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Home, Museum, and Presidential Library in Hyde Park to conclude their study of the First World War, Interwar Period, and Second World War. Museum staff helped the cadets analyze a number of primary documents from the library concerning U.S. involvement in World War II. National Park Service staff provided a tour of the home. This visit deepened the cadets’ understanding of the challenges faced by America’s political and military leaders in the years leading up to and during the Second World War, and how our nation’s leaders responded to those challenges.
