French: Three groups of cadets, a total of 21 students, studied at the Gendarme Language School in Rochefort, France over last summer. Each group experienced a 3-week intensive immersion experience which combined daily classroom instruction and guided cultural excursions with opportunities for self-guided travel in the region. An international school, our students were also able to interact with military officers from around the world in French throughout their stay. This AIAD successfully promoted significant growth in students' abilities to communicate independently in French and increased student confidence in the target language.
Russian: The Russian club participated in club night with 120 cadets showing interest in participating in the club. On August 25, Cadets Mills and Sutherland departed West Point for Washington DC for briefings and orientation prior to their semester abroad in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Engineers & Scientists for a Sustainable World Annual BBQ. On 25 August 2015, Engineers & Scientists for a Sustainable World (ESSW) hosted its annual BBQ on Daly Field. Cadets majoring in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering came out and enjoyed burgers, hot dogs and camaraderie as the Environmental Program kicked off Term 16-1. Cadets in both environmental majors enjoyed reconnecting with their classmates and their instructors. All environmental majors are club members, but cadets from any other discipline are encouraged to participate in ESSW’s outreach efforts to assist in the implementation of environmentally sustainable solutions for surrounding communities and West Point.
