Army West Point Men's Basketball co-captain Jalen Rucker '24 was named the Patriot League GEICO Player of the Week, marking back-to-back weeks he has won the award. He also becomes the first athlete to win the award twice this season in the league. In three games this past week (2-1 record), Rucker averaged 22.0 ppg, 5.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. He shot a total of 24-40 (60.0%) from the floor and an impressive 8-11 (72.7%) from three-point range. His highest scoring game of the week with 29 points was in Army's Saturday win at Boston University, connecting on four three-pointers and scoring 11 of his 29 in the final eight minutes to help Army secure the 83-74 victory. On January 9 vs. Colgate, Rucker joined the 1,000-Point Club when he made a three-pointer with 52 seconds left in the first half. Rucker is now the 10th Army player since the 2010-11 season to hit the 1,000-point mark. He is also the 37th Army player of all time to reach the milestone. Read more.
