Army West Point gymnast Maddox Pabellon '26 was named ECAC Co-Specialist of the Week for his performances January 13-14. Pabellon highlighted the 31st West Point Open for the Black Knights, taking home the individual crown on pommel horse with a 14.350 score in the finals. He bested opponents from Penn State, Nebraska, Navy and Springfield to top the podium. The score was a career-best for Pabellon and ranks him second in the NCAA and the top-ranked gymnast in the ECAC so far this season on the pommel horse. He also went on to post a career-best mark on vault with a 14.100 score. The plebe has made his mark on the collegiate gymnastics scene through two weekends; becoming the sixth gymnast in Army history to win the event at the West Point Open and first since 2014. This is the second ECAC honor for Pabellon in as many weeks, after receiving ECAC Rookie of the Week this past Tuesday. Read more.
