CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Boasting impressive marks on the track and in the classroom, Army West Point distance runners Lisa Junta and Lindsay Gabow have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the conference on Friday afternoon. Junta earns the honor with a cumulative grade point average of 4.147 as a life science major while Gabow boasts a grade point average of 3.759 studying international history and comparative politics.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen are not eligible for the honor. At the 2015 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Shea Stadium at West Point, Junta placed 12th in the 5000m run, clocking a time of 18:18.14. Gabow posted a pair of top-three finishes, claiming third in the 5000m run with a time of 17:18.75 and second in the 10000m run with a time of 35:22.72. Read More
