In front of a crowd of nearly 1,700 fans, the Army West Point Women's Basketball team defeated Holy Cross, 61-48, Wednesday afternoon to earn its first Patriot League win of the season. The stands were filled with students from local elementary schools as part of Army's Education Day.
After scoring all 13 of the Black Knights' points in the first quarter, Alisa Fallon finished the contest with 21 on 8-of-13 shooting. She also pulled in 11 rebounds to register a double-double. Lindsey Scamman also finished with a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. After being held to 33.3 percent shooting in the first half, the Cadets shot at a 44.4 percent clip in the second half.
Megan Swords led the way for the Crusaders with a double-double of her own, with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for Holy Cross was Avery LaBarbera, who registered 11 points.
