Slomka to Participate in College Gridiron ShowcaseArmy firstie fullback Connor Slomka is participating in the College Gridiron Showcase (CGS) for the next week. Some of the top college senior players were chosen by a panel of experts to participate in the showcase and symposium, which is being held January 3-8 in Fort Worth, Texas.

He joins Cole Christiansen and Elijah Riley as Army players that are being represented in college football's postseason all-star events this year. Christiansen will play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on January 18 (Pasadena, Calif.) while Riley will take part in the East-West Shrine game on January 18 as well (St. Petersburg, Fla.).

Slomka finished second on the team in 2019 with 658 rushing yards on 149 carries (4.4 average), to go along with eight scores. Overall in 38 career games, Slomka finished with 1,208 yards on 274 carries (4.4 average). The Wexford, Pa., native, who averaged 54.8 yards-per-game in 2019, tallied a 30-yard rushing score at Hawai'i, which gave him eight touchdowns on the season and 17 for his career.

Since the 2015 inaugural event, 475 CGS participants have been offered pro opportunities. At the 2019 CGS, scouts from all 32 NFL teams, all nine CFL teams, and other professional leagues were on hand to evaluate and meet with players.

The first all-star event to implement an OTA format, CGS showcases players through practices and a controlled scrimmage with professional coaches. Players will also perform individual and team drills, participate in 1-on-1s, attend meetings, and, in many cases have the opportunity for personal interviews with scouts and executives.
