Firstie Kara Wineinger of the Army West Point women's swimming and diving team was tabbed the Patriot League Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday morning. Wineinger was the top scorer for the Black Knights in their home opener against UConn on Saturday afternoon. The Stafford, Va., native claimed a pair of individual first-place finishes opposite the Huskies. In the 100 breast, her time of 1:04.33 helped her win the event before she later captured the top spot in the 200 breast at 2:21.50. She also had success in the 200 medley relay, swimming the second leg and aiding the group of Cecelia Croman, Mia Rankin and Bailey Smith post a time of 1:44.86, which was good for first. Wineinger and the Black Knights will return to action on Friday, Nov. 9 to face off against LIU Brooklyn at 5 p.m. at Crandall Pool.
