After impressing many in his first career start, yearling quarterback Cam Thomas was named the Army West Point Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.
Thomas ran for a game-high 137 yards on 26 carries and led Army football to an exciting double overtime victory over Miami (OH) last Saturday. The Huntsville, Ala., native broke free for a 52-yard scamper late in the third quarter that set up a key touchdown by the sophomore a few plays later. That marked his second career score.
He and the rest of the Army team are back in action Saturday when they travel to Eastern Michigan for a noon kick off. That game will be carried live on CBS Sports Network with Ben Holden and Ross Tucker on the call.
