Equestrian IHSA Horse Show in New Paltz

The Army West Point Equestrian Team showed strong at its second IHSA horse show of the season. The team traveled to Lucky C Stables in New Paltz, NY to compete against ten highly competitive colleges in the Northeast region at their intercollegiate horse show hosted by SUNY New Paltz. With twelve top three finishes in multiple categories of competition, the team truly rode with excellence. Some of the most notable placings are as follows: Anna Gerald '21 placed third in the open over fences class, Madyson Paul '21 placed second in the Novice over fences class, Joshua Barbella '21 won his advanced walk-trot-canter class, Sydney Campbell '21 placed second in her advanced walk-trot-canter class, Amanda Roper '19 placed third in her advanced walk-trot-canter class, Karissa Stubblefield '22 won her walk-trot-canter division, Cira Wolf '20 placed third in her walk-trot-canter division, Suzanna Del Rio '21 won her walk-trot class, Kirby Horne '22 and Taqi Iftikhar '20 placed second in their respective walk-trot divisions, and Lucy Harrill '21 and Victoria Kearns '22 both placed third in their walk trot divisions. The team shined at the show, and many members achieved new personal bests. This level of success early on is a powerful indicator of the team's competitiveness as they head into the bulk of their season. Good luck here tomorrow against Centenary University.
