The Army men's rugby team continued its hot start to the fall, as the Black Knights took down Kutztown 24-17 Saturday at the Anderson Rugby Complex. First half was a defensive battle, with both teams playing physically from the start. Army (5-0) opened up the scoring with a scrum try in the 17th minute to take a 7-0 lead. The Golden Bears would add a penalty kick in the 34th minute to make it 7-3 going into the half. The second half saw the brunt of the scoring, with tries from Bailey Abercrombie, Paul Adams, and Will Miller. Kutztown would keep it close with two tries of its own, but a stout Black Knight defense would seal the win down the stretch, with multiple scrum victories. The Black Knights begin the season at least 5-0 for the fourth time in five years. The 2014-15 team began the year 8-0 for the best start since turning varsity. Army moves to 4-1 on 15s play at the varsity level against Kutztown. Read More
