Men's Cross Country Places Third At Paul Short Run

The Army West Point men's cross country team placed third out of 41 teams at the Paul Short Run on Friday. The Black Knights were led by junior Robbie Santoyo's 11th place finish (24:41). Senior Mikey Singer (19th, 24:51) and junior Roman Ollar (25th, 24:54) also posted top 25 finishes for Army. The team improved four spots from their previous season's result for the second straight year. Coach Smith said, "I thought the guys ran very well today. It was a warm day and the course was soggy and slippery from the recent rain, so it was a challenge to maneuver out there, but we did a great job of managing the conditions and focusing on the race. A third-place finish in a race of this caliber is a nice way to start the competitive part of the season. Two years ago, we were 11th here and last year we finished seventh.
