Amateur Radio Provides Toughman Competition Support

Cadets from the Cadet HAMS Radio club provided communications support along with the Orange County Amateur Radio Club for the Toughman Competition. In addition, 29 cadets from A2, F2, H2, and I2 provided cadet volunteers to direct traffic, cyclists, and distributed water to competitors. A national guard chaplain said he was very impressed with the cadet's performance at the event and thanked them for volunteering. The primary volunteer coordinator said after the event that the cadets were extremely effective in ensuring traffic was properly controlled. Head coordinator quote "This year was the smoothest year yet, in 12 years." Merchant Marine Academy midshipmen also volunteered.
