The Army West Point Mountaineering Club took eight cadets to the Shawagunks Mountain Range in New Paltz, NY, to participate in a day of outdoor climbing. The members of the club who participated in this trip section include cadets Justin Gittemeier '21, Ben Mustonen '21, Ian Navarro '20, Jared Ells '19, Christopher Rieping '19, George Plantenga '21, Gerrit Rummel '21, and Christian Witkop '21. This trip was focused on continuing to learn top rope anchor building and top rope belaying skills. Participants of the trip section gained experience with outdoor rock climbing practicing on routes at levels 5.4 – 5.10.
