Johns Tabbed AWPAA Athlete of the Week

CDT Erynn Johns '21Yearling forward Erynn Johns of the Army West Point women's soccer team was named the Army West Point Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for her strong start to the 2018 season. Johns guided the Black Knights to a 3-1-1 record through the first five games, the program's best start to a season since opening the 1997 season at 6-0-0. She recorded a point in each of the first four games. Having also scored a goal in the 2017 season finale at American, her five-game point streak was the longest within the program since 2010 when Kim An earned a point in seven consecutive matches.

The Austin, Texas, native leads Army with six points which is tied for the third most in the Patriot League. Additionally, her team-high four assists is tied for tops in the league and fifth nationally. The Black Knights return to action this weekend as they head to Northern Arizona for a Friday contest at 10 p.m. ET. They will conclude the road trip with a neutral site contest in Flagstaff, Ariz., against CSU Northridge on Sunday which is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET. Read More
