Kenneth Brinson and Ben Petrella were named to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic Division I All-District® Track and Field/Cross Country Teams, when it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Brinson, a chemical engineering major with a 4.03 grade point average (GPA), was recently named to the 2018 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Patriot League team and was the 2017 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. At the 2018 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships, Brinson struck gold in the weight throw, earning First-Team All-Patriot League honors.
Petrella, a physics major carrying a 3.98 GPA, earns his first selection to the All-District Team. During the 2017-18 Patriot League Indoor track & field season, Petrella was honored with the Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor while also being selected to the Academic All-League team. He earned two gold medals at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships; winning both the 3000-meter and 5000-meter runs and was named the Male Track Athlete of the Meet.
