Corpus Christi Aviation Depot Capstone PresentationDepartment of Systems Engineering (DSE) cadets - Paulo Almeida, Marisa Reyes, Billingsley Pogue, and Andre Bergman (Team Texas*) presented the results of their Capstone work at the 2018 Virginia Modeling and Simulation Conference (VMASC) in Suffolk, VA. The objective of their Capstone work was to develop a model of the Corpus Christi Aviation Depot (CCAD) plating facility to support production decisions and improve process efficiency. The team's paper submitted for the conference was awarded "Best in Track." Immediately following the conference, the cadets presented the results of their work to the Commander of CCAD, COL Allan Lanceta, and the Industrial Engineering team. The cadet team's modeling and analysis highlighted production bottlenecks and facility capacity limitations along with alternatives to increase efficiency. Based upon the significance of their Capstone work, COL Lanceta took the opportunity to present each of the team members an Army Achievement Medal (AAM). DSE is sending three cadets on an Academic Individual Advanced Development (AIAD) to Corpus Christi this summer to collect data and conduct stakeholder analysis for another production line within CCAD which will support a Capstone project in AY19.
