The cadets started the day by seeing Uegene O'Neill's masterpiece play The Iceman Cometh. The play is nearly four hours long, and is a collection of character studies that highlight the talents of a star-studded cast. They were blown away by the play and the performances, and after the show had a brief encounter with Mr. Clark Middleton who was pleasantly surprised to learn that West Point has a theatre club. Two cadets had the chance to see a different play called Saint Joan. It was a different take on the Joan of Arc story, and the performance got rave reviews from the cadets. After grabbing a quick dinner, the cadets were off to the second play of the evening, Lobby Hero starring Chris Evans, Michael Cera, Brian Tyree Henry, and Bel Powley. They particularly enjoyed Lobby Hero for its relevance to principles of leadership and ethics. It was a humorous and thoughtful look at core principles and what choices we make under pressure. After the show, the cadets got to meet with some of the actors.
