Projects Day 2018: All Coming Together

For nearly two decades, the academic year at West Point has culminated in Projects Day, the United States Military Academy's annual showcase of presentations, poster sessions, theses defenses, and performances that represent the best of cadet intellect, creativity, and tenacity. For approximately four hours (or, in the case of presentations and theses defenses, for roughly 40 minutes), cadets display their project to the public and remain available to answer any questions that anyone might have about their work. "Projects Day is not just a day to reflect on cadet achievement but also on the teaching and mentorship that helped bring these projects to fruition," says BG Cindy Jebb '82, USMA's 14th Dean of the Academic Board. It's also a day to thank all the donors who have generously contributed to the Margin of Excellence programs that funded many of the projects seen on Projects Day. Two-hundred and seventy-two of these donors returned to West Point to view the work of the cadets, and during the West Point Association of Graduates' Donor Tribute Day Luncheon Jebb said to them, "I cannot help but come away inspired by the passion, energy, intellect, critical thinking and entrepreneurial spirit displayed in the cadets' projects thanks to your support."
