Plebe Ana Joyner of the Army West Point women's tennis team and cow gymnast Cole Casanova were named co-athletes of the week by the Army West Point Athletic Association for their outstanding postseason performances.
Joyner led the Black Knights to their 14th Patriot League title and first since 2013 from the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles. The Las Cruces, N.M., native earned the John "Pat" Rooney Award as the tournament's most valuable player, becoming just the fifth plebe in program history to earn the honor. She is the 20th cadet-athlete in program history to be recognized as the tournament MVP and first since Della Taylor in 2013.
Casanova returned to NCAAs this year after being out last season due to an injury. The cow placed sixth in Friday night's qualifier in the all-around to advance to Saturday night's final round. Casanova improved his scores in five of six events during the finals. The Dallas, Texas, native placed 13th in the all-around with his second-highest score of the season (79.300).
