Cadets Attend Rochester Symposium for Physics Students

Four Cadets attended the Rochester Symposium for Physics Students in Brockport, NY with LTC Corey Gerving to present research to fellow undergraduate physicists. The symposium consisted of three sessions, each with two separate discipline-specific technical sessions. The conference was held on the campus of the State University of New York's Brockport campus. At the conference the cadets gave two presentations, attended the opening session, technical sessions and the conference reception. The presentations were: "Construction of a Magneto-Optical Trap to Cool Rubidium Atoms" by cadets Jafr Kazmi, Samir Streatfield, and Meaghan McGovern and "Establishing a Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) analysis system at the United States Military Academy" by cadet Scott Nieboer. All of the cadet presentations were very well received for both their technical merit and quality of presentation.
