Astronomy Lecture at the American Museum of Natural HistorySpace & Astrophysics and the Astronomy Club participated in a joint trip section to the Amateur Astronomy Association's (AAA) of New York evening lecture at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The lecture was titled "The Great American Eclipse of 2017 and Others" and was given by Prof. Jay Pasachoff, Field Memorial Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Hopkins Observatory at Williams College. Prof Pasachoff discussed the many nuances of the August 2017 total solar eclipse, and contextualized them in terms of other total and partial eclipses that have or will happen. As luck would have it, Dr. David Kraft, a former faculty member of the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering hosted the event for AAA. A total of twenty-four cadets attended and were accompanied by LTC Diana Loucks and Dr. Paula Fekete.
