Yearling right fielder Amelia Trotter was named the Army West Point Athletic Association (AWPAA) Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Trotter excelled in the leadoff spot during a 3-0 week for the Black Knights, compiling a .636 average (7-for-11), .667 on-base and 1.273 slugging percentage. The second-year outfielder belted a pair of homers, drove in four and crossed home six times while going a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases. In a Wednesday tilt against Iona, Trotter batted 3-for-4 with a run scored and tied her career high in stolen bases with three. Over the weekend, the Plano, Texas, native picked up her 30th hit and fifth double of the season in the opening game of a doubleheader against UMass-Lowell. She then erupted offensively in the second game, batting a perfect 3-for-3 with two dingers, a stolen base and a career-best four runs scored and four RBIs.
