Cadets from Weapons Engineering presented the results and demonstrated the performance of their Engineering Design Project (EDP). This year cadets were challenged to design, fabricate, and test a novel projectile that could be fired from a paintball gun. Specifically, the projectile had to achieve threshold performance values for interior, exterior, and terminal ballistics. Teams were required to use Computer Aided Design (CAD), theoretical models, and Additive Manufacturing (AM) or 3D printing, to create and test fire a novel projectile. The final presentations were delivered to Dr. Don Carlucci, Chief Scientist at the Armament, Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC).
