Lacrosse Duo Named to Midseason All-America List

Army West Point men's lacrosse duo Johnny Surdick and AJ Barretto were named to the Inside Lacrosse Midseason Media All-America list, announced Thursday. Surdick, a 2017 All-America Honorable Mention pick, was voted to the first team for the midseason list. He leads the Black Knights with 14 caused turnovers this year and sits tied for 12th nationally with 2.0 caused turnovers per game. The cow from Odenton, Md., has assisted on a goal in four of the last five games for Army. He totals 97 career groundballs and 58 caused turnovers. The Black Knights' goalie, Barretto, landed on honorable mention. The cow's 6.61 goals against average is good for second in college lacrosse. He has allowed seven or less goals in all of his wins this season. Barretto, who hails from Darlington, Md., posted a career-high 14 saves earlier this month in the team's win over Holy Cross.
