Spring Immersion Trips The Department of Foreign Languages (DFL) led cadets to more than a half dozen countries over Spring Break for Language and Cultural Immersion Trips as well as research activities. Cadets and faculty traveled to Morocco, Jordan, China, Germany, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Costa Rica. The Arabic section led eight Cadets on two trips, Jordan and Morocco. Cadets practiced their Arabic with the local population, sampled local cuisine, and learned about ancient civilizations with roots going back to the Ancient Romans and earlier.

Highlights from the Chinese section's trip include visits to the Nanjing Massacre museum as well as the Purple Mountain and buildings that reflect both China's long imperial legacy and Nanjing's recent status as China's capital while it was governed by the Nationalist government prior to 1949.

The German section's trip included an official visit to the Offizierschule des Heeres, where cadets received a short briefing on the functioning of the German Bundeswehr Officer Commissioning process. Cadets also went on a joint climb in the Saxon Alps. The group visited the Goethe Institut, the Federal Republic of Germany's cultural institute, and learned about the educational opportunities available in conjunction with DFL.
