Triathlon Race in the Draft Legal Challenge

Nine members of the triathlon team traveled to Clermont Florida to race in the Draft Legal Challenge a two-day race festival with a professional race as well as two elite development races in which the top-three finishers earn their elite license. The athletes braved very choppy waters and strong winds and heat to compete against the world's best, including some athletes representing the Naval Academy. The experience gained from racing in such a strong field is equivalent to 5 or 6 non-draft conference races. Top times for the 5k were in the 15 minutes range after swimming and cycling. Attending this event puts the team in a better position for National Championships in Alabama, where they will go against Navy in a race for the national title.
