Thirteen Cadets attended the Athena Film Festival at Barnard College in New York City. The festival featured a series of educational and informative workshops and panels, as well as a host of "inspiring films that tell the extraordinary stories of strong, bold women leaders." The evening featured a packed screening of the Centerpiece film, Mankiller, a documentary on Wilma Mankiller, the first female Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. The film was followed by a conversation with director Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, and journalist and activist Gloria Steinem.
