Cadets Lead Middle School Robotics Workshops

Cadets Lead Middle School Robotics WorkshopsWest Point’s Center for Leadership and Diversity in STEM (CLD-STEM) led two VEX Robotics Workshops for middle school students at CFES Brilliant Pathways in Essex, NY. West. Cadets Sophia Grohs, Donia Nichols, and Brody Rocque from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) served as student mentors. Department of Systems Engineering faculty members LTC(P) Hise Gibson and MAJ Jasmine Motupalli (Associate Director, CLD STEM) served as advisors. Students first received a presentation on the benefits of pursuing STEM education, and how USMA, the Nation’s first school of engineering, teaches those skills to cadets. As part of the robotics workshop, students competed in a scenario to build and program robots to deliver supplies to a village in need.
