Plebe defender John Zimmerman of the Army West Point Hockey team has been named to the Atlantic Hockey Association's All-Rookie Team, announced by the league on Monday. "We are really proud to see John named to the All-Rookie Team," said head coach Brian Riley. "He's had a tremendous first year and it is nice to see his play be recognized by coaches throughout the league." Zimmerman was one of seven Black Knights to reach double-digits in assists and boasted the most points of the rookies on the team. He tallied 11 on the year to rank 12th in the league for freshman scoring. The Arlington, Texas, native appeared in 24 games for Army and totaled 22 blocks on the year. He finished the regular season at +2. The fourth-seeded Army West Point hockey team is set to host fifth-seeded Air Force Mar. 9-11 at Tate Rink for the AHA Quarterfinals.
