MG(R) Thomas Ayres '84, former Deputy Judge Advocate General of the Army and current nominee to serve as the next U.S. Air Force General Counsel, visited the Department of Law (DLAW) and spoke with cadets. He held an informal brown bag with DLAW faculty as well as members of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA), where he provided insights on current legal issues facing Judge Advocates. He then spoke with the LW495 capstone class, addressing the cadets about the importance of legitimacy in warfare. The lecture was well-received and stimulated conversation about the second and third order effects of compliance with the Law of Armed Conflict.
