Two members of the Army West Point men's lacrosse team have been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. David Symmes and Johnny Surdick are among 50 of the nation's top players on the list. The watch list includes players from all three NCAA divisions. Symmes has posted multi-point games in all, but one contest this season for Army. He opened the year with a hat trick against UMass. The firstie midfielder is second on the team with 12 points. He has scored a man-up goal in three games for Army this season and has picked up four ground balls. The Fairfax Station, Va., native is one of Army's biggest offensive threats in high stress situations. Last season, Symmes scored the game-winning goals against two top-five ranked opponents in Syracuse and Notre Dame. Surdick returned as Army's top defender for the second straight season. The cow posted season-high statistics against #14 Syracuse last weekend with six ground balls and three caused turnovers to lead both sides. The Odenton, Md., native typically marks the opponent's top attacker and has started playing the wing on the faceoffs. This season, he has an assist, 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
