SA Mitek Speaks to Cadets About Hostage Rescue

Special Agent Joseph Mitek, an assistant team leader on the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), spoke to approximately seventy-five cadets in classes and during a Dean’s hour briefing. Topics covered were his service on the HRT, the support HRT provides to local and state law enforcement agencies, small unit leadership, and ways to continue serving the nation after graduation. SA Mitek used case studies on the 2013 Alabama Hostage Rescue near Dothan, AL and the 2016 Dracy Pendleton manhunt to illustrate his points. After spending the day with cadets in the classroom, SA Mitek closed out the trip with dinner at the First Class Club amongst faculty and cadets.
