Firstie Janae McNeal of the Army West Point women's basketball team was tabbed a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division I Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday morning. McNeal joins Tyler Scaife of Rutgers as a co-winner of the weekly award and is the first Cadet this season to earn the honor. The Spotsylvania, Va., native paced the Black Knights on both ends of the court this past week, helping Army capture a pair of Patriot League wins over Holy Cross and Lehigh. In a 66-57 victory against the Crusaders last Wednesday, she posted her first double-double of the season and third in her career, putting up a game-high 25 points on 10-of-17 (59 percent) shooting with a season-best 12 rebounds. It was the second time in her career that she made 10 or more shots in a single game. She also played her part on the defensive end, tallying a season-high five steals in 28 minutes of action. McNeal followed up that performance by scoring a team-high 16 points on 7-of-12 (58 percent) shooting, whiling bringing down five boards against Lehigh this past Saturday.
