The Army West Point gymnastics team posted a season-high 399.550 in its third-place showing at the All-Academy Championships Saturday. Nick McAfee and Nathan Goff championed events in the effort, while Cole Casanova won the All-Around. The 399.550 team mark ranks second on Army's top performance list. McAfee won on the parallel bars with a 13.300. Goff tied for first on high bar after turning in a season-high 14.100. Casanova excelled in the All-Around with a first-place and career-high 80.050 score. The Black Knights produced season-high marks on floor exercise (67.750), pommel horse (66.800), still rings (66.350) and vault (69.800). Army's 69.800 ono vault was a program record. The floor, pommel horse and vault marks were the second-best in program history under the new scoring format. Seth Cannon led the Black Knights on floor with a season best 14.000. He was followed by Ellioitt Herman (13.750) and Cole Casanova (13.500). McAfee had a career-high 13.350. Goff posted a 13.800 on pommel horse for a season-high, while Brandon Shively and Matthew Martin also turned in their best scores of the year at 13.500 and 13.400 respectively. On still rings Herman was first for Army with another season-high 13.700. Taka Giese and McAfee both produced 13.300 scores which were also season-highs.
