The cadets broadened their understanding of the many skill sets and talents it takes to run Broadway. Cadets attended workshops on auditions, vocal coaching, script writing, theatre blogging, and even one on how pets are trained to perform in live theatre productions. Cadets engaged with the cast of The Band's Visit, and some of the discussion touched cadets about culturally accurate representations and challenges faced by minority actors. The Band's Visit was described as "What it feels like to sit inside a poem." Cadets also participated in dance-along and sing-along events on the main stage. During the "Battle of Yorktown" song from Hamilton, the BroadwayCon twitter account re-tweeted a photo and re-marked that they wouldn't want to get in a dance-off with cadets.
