Hovren, Chalifoux Share Athlete of the Week Honors

Cow Madison Hovren of the Army West Point women's basketball team and yearling wrestler Trey Chalifoux were both named the Army West Point Athletic Association Athlete of the Week. Hovren paced the Black Knights in a 2-0 week, helping the team capture wins over Colgate and Loyola while scoring her 1,000th career point. She became just the 18th Cadet in program history to achieve that milestone. Over the two games, the she connected on 64 percent (18-for-28) of her shots. In the game against the Raiders, she posted 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting to pair with six boards and a blocked shot. The Spokane, Wash., native followed that performance with a double-double against Loyola on Saturday. Against the Greyhounds, she had a game-high 23 points, while tying her season-high with 11 made shots. Hovren also added 11 rebounds in the win. Chalifoux posted a perfect 3-0 mark at the All-Academy Championships on Saturday, leading the team to a second-place finish.
