Hovren Reaches 1,000-Point Mark

Madison Hovren of the Army West Point women's basketball team became the 18th Cadet in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for her career. She achieved this milestone after scoring 23 points in the Black Knights' victory over Loyola on Saturday. Hovren's 1,000th point came early in the third quarter against the Greyhounds. She now has 1,010 career points and sits tied for 16th all-time with Pam Pearson '85. The Spokane, Wash., native has excelled on the court during her time at West Point, compiling 598 career rebounds to pair with her 1,010 points. The nine-time Patriot League Player of the Week recipient is a 46-percent shooter and is averaging 12 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for her career. Hovren and the women's basketball team will return to action on Saturday when they head to the nation's capital to face off against American at 3 p.m.
