Lacrosse Recognized in USILA Preseason PollThe Army West Point men's lacrosse team received more national recognition Tuesday when it was ranked 16th by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association preseason poll. The Black Knights will face three other teams on the rankings in the 2018 season, all which currently rank in the top-13 to include No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Rutgers, No. 10 Syracuse and No. 13 Loyola. Army welcomes back a wealth of its roster for the 2018 year with returners in key roles. Johnny Surdick who was a 2017 USILA Honorable Mention All-American and All-Patriot League First Team selection will lead the Black Knights' defensive unit. He led the squad with 1.93 caused turnovers per game which ranked him 10th nationally. Surdick also recorded 42 ground balls. Midfielder David Symmes will be back for his firstie season after leading the Black Knights with three game-winning goals. He was second on the team in points with 35. AJ Barreto will be back in goal for the Cadets after starting in all 16 contests in 2017 and garnering a .508 save percentage and an 8.47 goals against average. Read More
