Cadet Haley Duke presented her work on the radiation testing of commercial of the shelf (COTS) processors. The aim of the project is to characterize the susceptibility of COTS processors to total ionizing dose and radiation induced single event upsets to enable their use as low cost alternatives in small satellites over costly traditional radiation hardened processors. The current semester's work focused on the experimental setup to enable data collection for next semester. Space and Missile Defense Command sponsored her work and it was conducted through the Space and Missile Defense Command Research and Analysis Center (SMDC-RAC) at West Point.
