Dean's Hour WWI DiscussionThe History Department hosted Dr. Monique Seefried and Mr. Rod Frazer for lunch and a Dean's Hour discussion about WWI with cadets participating in the World War One in Literature and Memory Staff ride. Dr. Seefried is a commissioner on the WWI Centennial Commission, and discussed her views on fading American memory of the Great War and the forthcoming National WWI Memorial in Washington, DC. Mr. Frazer, who received a Silver Star as a tank platoon leader in Korea, discussed not only his experiences in Korea, but also elaborated why he had a memorial built near the Croix Rouge Farm in France, where his father was wounded fighting as a member of the 42nd Division. The cadets present for this discussion took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the National WWI Memorial in Washington, DC.
